- Managed the deliverables from two graduate engineers and three BIM technicians to deliver our RIBA Stage 4A output on schedule.
- Individually represented the company at external meetings, managed the clash detection workshops and BIM workflow. This was very complex due to the demolition, refurbishment and new construction works.

1000 Discovery Drive, Cambridge Mixed Biomedical Campus
Aug 2021 - Oct 2022
£40M new 12,500m2 5-storey RC concrete frame mixed use office & laboratory development.
- Extensive use of software (Autodesk Robot, Tekla Structural Designer & TEDDs) to design pile caps, walls, columns, check long-term deflections over the steel structural tree and supply connection forces to the steel subcontractor.
- I was able to automate the column design (circa 140 columns) and present short-comings
of design software back to the company. - Carefully coordinated drainage with rebar in large, piled raft to eliminate clashes.
- Novated across to the contractor (SDC) and was able to provide them with solutions on site with the materials at hand to keep them on programme.

Other items
I’ve acted as the ‘buddy’ for several new starters, including managing a work experience placement. More widely, I’ve acted as a mentor for several others before they have sat their ICE Chartered Review.
I managed the strucrural design and delivery (RIBA Stage 3) of a new maternity extension to the Rockinghamw Wing at Kettering Hospital. This included the production of a drawing pack, a robust set of Employers Requirements and a risk register, to enable the client to best manage contractor negotiations, before our re-appointment in Stage 4.
An existing building being upgraded from office space to laboratory. I undertook the design of complicated changes to the roof plant deck, which saw the plant screen and plant deck being placed on 3m cantilevers. I managed the design and delivery of this change.
I designed and delivered (RIBA Stage 3) a new glulam framed building with CLT floors. After undertaking a stability check I itentified the requirements for additional bracing in the structure, and had this coordinated into the architects plans, early on. I also created an innovative detail between the CLT and the steps retaining walls protruding out of the raft foundation.
I undertook a study of an existing ground bearing slab, interpolating results from a limited GI. I confirmed to the client the possible uses of the space and the minimum interventions required to obtain more capacity from the slab. I converted quite a technical study into something easily digestible to someone with know knowledge of soil mechanics or structures.
Assistant Site Manager - Bouygues
July 2019 - July 2021
Cavendish III Physics Laboratory, University of Cambridge
£225M new 33,000m2 4-storey concrete framed laboratory with basement, external steel plant rooms, suspended lecture theatre off 15m spanning steel trusses and a feature precast façade.
- Assisted with the day-to-day site management of a £30M package of works, leading an international team of up to 20 people to help deliver the concrete frame.
- Independently manged the quality assurance process for the area, organising inspections and signoff from the client, temporary works & MEP team.
- Point of authority for Health and Safety, proactively inspecting and addressing hazards. Disseminated lessons from accidents for continuous improvement.
- Mentored two summer intern students until they gained a degree of autonomy.
- Resolved design coordination issues, procured materials, and coordinated works with several other parties and to keep the project on time and on budget.

Graduate Civil and Structural Engineer - AP
Aug 2017 - Oct 2018
- Completed designs for a wide variety of different structural and geotechnical elements for different projects, in masonry, steel, concrete and timber. Produced structural condition survey reports on existing buildings.
- Used Autodesk’s AutoCAD, Robot and Tekla’s Tedds, drawings and manual hand calculations to perform timely checks on temporary and permanent works.
- Displayed a strong sense of priorities, handling several projects at once, all designed to remain within the client’s budget.
Technical Assistant - Redrow Homes

Personal Interests
I’m a big fan of the outdoors, camping and exercise. I’ve previously enjoyed being a member of Hockey, Rugby and Lacrosse clubs. The peak of my achievement was representing the Welsh Universities Internationally in a Lacrosse tournament in May 2018. Creatively, I like to cook elaborate dishes for others and I previously taught myself Spanish up to a conversational level.
