The fun, complimentary younger brother of the 'Professional Profile'
About this site
Pretty good question if you ask me
Origin
In the summer of 2025 I decided to reduce my hours at my employer. I wanted to create some spare time in my diary, such that I could join a start-up or create something, or just do something new. Essentially to not follow the traditional life of employment for five days a week, climbing ladders, dilligently putting away into my pension, and then retiring one day.
What do you want?
I found myself in the “clients dilemma”. You know what you don’t want, but you don’t necessarily know what you want. I know I don’t want the option above. What do I want though? I’m not 100% sure. Perhaps ten years ago, that might have been a crazy idea, but I think society is becoming a bit better at relaxing this strange pressure we have on conforming. I say ‘strange’, but it makes perfect sense really, we want people to be like us, to affirm we are making the correct choices ourselves.
What does that have to do with the price of fish?
“That’s great Elliot, but I’m actually wondering about what this website is about”. Companies need a home(page) to act as their store front and tell the world what they are about. As I’ve stepped away from a company to partly do my own thing, I basically need an equivalent space to fill that void. People need somewhere to go to understand what I am about, what I’m learning, and the extent of my talents.
Happiness (buckle up)
It’s probably now not a shock when I say that I don’t want this place (or my life) to be stuffy and excessively corporate. I’m not sure you can achieve true happiness in life, when you spend forty hours or more a week, pretending to be something adjacent to the real you. We have a history of prioritising our corporate lives and profits over real relationships, wellness and even our children. I’m not a charity, and fully agree that there is important work to be done. I’d even argue that this can be a great source of satisfaction in ones life. What I’m suggesting though, is that there is more to life than just that.
Summary:
That is what this website is. My own space, for me to introduce my real self, free from excessive corporate pressure. It’s a place to pool and share my ideas and learnings with friends, business partners and prospective collaborators. I hope you have fun browsing, enjoy.
Thanks, Elliot
You made it to the bottom of the page, perhaps you’ll enjoy one of these…

News Letter
Generally speaking, if you read something on my blog, it will be available on other social media. If you’d like more depth and less filter, then the newsletter is for you. They take time to produce and pass QA, so I’ll only send max two emails a year.
